
Friends of the Library meet the FOURTH MONDAY of each month at 7:30pm in the Community Room at the Library.
Q: Who are the Friends?​
A: The Friends of the Beaver Area Memorial Library is a non-profit group of citizen volunteers who support our Library and the role of public libraries in general.

Q: What do the Friends do?
A: The Friends promote awareness, interest, and participation in library services, facilities, and needs. They raise money with events throughout the year to finance projects and materials the library budget does not cover.

Q: Why do people become Friends?
A: The goal of sustaining and enhancing libraries in the community is important to the,, so as Friends they enjoy working on fundraisers and activities. Also, they meet fellow book lovers.

Q: What are the volunteer opportunities?
A: Friends volunteer at special events throughout the year such as the Annual Book Sale, Soup Luncheon, Garden Tour and the Fall Fundraiser.

Q: When did the Friends begin?
A: The Friends of the Library was organized in 1993. The Friends have offered support to library communities in countless ways.

Q:How are the Funds used?
A: The Friends of the Beaver Library -all volunteers- allocated funds to enhance library services and benefits community.
-Friends purchase public-access computers and computer equipment for the library.
-Friends support the PA Library Association, a collective voice for PA Libraries.
-Friends sponsor special projects such as landscaping and building improvements.
-Friends provide funds for library programs, equipment and events.
-Friends put books, audio visuals, eBooks, & learning tools in the hands of children and adults.
